Miracle In Cell No. 7

Image
Scrolling down my blog draft I find out that a review about one of my favorite korean movie is far from finish. So here I am continuing my feelings towards one of the saddest family movie. I heard people talking about Miracle in Cell No 7 for quite some time. But I haven't been able to spare some to look it up. Until last year when Pinocchio Kdrama was coming to and end. I was not ready to be parted with Park Shin Hye just yet. So, I searched for another dramas or movies she was in. And I came to watch Miracle in Cell No. 7. I thought about "I am Sam" a lot for the first 15 minutes of watching it because of its main characters. The main characters were a mentally handicapped father and a loving daughter. From that moment I knew that I would shed tears as the movie went on. I like how the director made a very intimate story about father-daughter relationship with a touch of mentally handicapped challenges and law of justice. I like how the story delivered a heartwar...

The Best A Man Can Get

Image
What do you think the best a man can get? Living a super rich life which he owns luxurious houses, expensive cars, and a dream job everybody wants? Do you think it will be having a nice little family to take care of, working on his passion, and getting a cool hang-out friends whenever he needs? Or maybe just lying in bed, playing computer games, and occasionally doing a bit of work? Well, those all may be the best things a man can get. But can he get all of those for granted? Pretty sure Michael Adams does. And because of doing so, he is about to lose it all. Michael Adams, a man and also a father, is living a double life. He escapes from the reality of becoming a father of 2 kids (soon to be 3) and lives his life doing works his passionate about, as a music composer. His little family stays in a downtown while he shares room with his two friends in the city. He stays in the city while doing a freelance work for a music company. He goes back to his little family mostly on the weeke...

Be Confidence With Cutting Project

Image
One of this year resolution is to have a creative collaboration work with Cutting Project. Occasionally, I have been wearing Cutting Project outfit to everyday routine. I found Cutting Project material to be comfortable to wear for hanging out. In every season they've released, they only made it in limited pieces. It's limited. So, not everyone can own neither can wear the same outfit. How amazing is that? Not to mention that the price is sooooo affordable. And if it's fit for you then it means only for you. Since I have unusual body type, I like to request for something that I want with patterns and model which suitable for me. So it will be more exclusive and well-suited. Go check Cutting Project's social media to find out more about it. Photos by Vicky Deindra Electra and Woro Utami

Tuesdays With Morrie

Image
Before holiday started, I let myself wander in the school library. " It would be good if I could find a decent book to fill my holiday ", I thought at the moment. My eyes stopped at the sight of brown little book entitled 'tuesdays with Morrie' by Mitch Albom. I've heard about Mitch Albom before but haven't read any of his book. So, I thought that would be my first Mitch Albom book. I did not expect it to be beautifully-grabbed-my-heart's-attention. It's truly beautifully written book. Hyperbolic, you think? Maybe. Maybe not. I think it's well written. Albom might write for only fourteen Tuesdays he had been spending time with his coach, Morrie, but I feel like it's a lifetime inspirational book on how we perceive life (or death). I won't spoiler you with what's on the book. I'm just gonna tell that this book truly moved my heart (and brain), gave myself a new perspective on how to face life (or death), made myself to be e...

Suara (The Voice)

Image
October is a special month. It's a month not only for Halloween but also a Domestic Violence Awareness month. Domestic violence should not happen to anybody. Yet, it is still happening right now. It happens among couples (married or unmarried). It occurs within all age ranges, ethnic backgrounds, and economic levels. Women are more commonly victimized. Knowing that Kelola For Arts and Culture held a dance performance about domestic violence entitled, "Suara" at Goethe Haus Jakarta, I rushed myself to reserve a spot. About "Suara" (The Voice) Domestic violence is not easy to detect by society. Because, half of the victims or witnesses remain silence and keep that horrible experiences by themselves. Another half, decided to act. One of them is Nabilla Rasul. She is one of the witness, who dare to recall those horrible moments and express those feelings into movements called "Suara" (The Voice). The choreography tells about domestic violence that i...

Fated To Love You (Korean Version)

Image
This drama is over for quite some time yet I still am not moving on. I watched it accidentally when I looked what kdrama was happening at the time. My eyes were kept by the title "Fated to Love You". Somehow the title tickled my curiosity as to what the story would be. The female lead was Jang Na Ra (playing Mi Young). I've seen her in School 2013 and I thought she was so-so. Although she did move my heart in her scenes there. SO I did not expect her much in this new drama FTLY. While the male lead (playing Lee Gun) was someone I did not know before. It's the first time I saw him on drama. So I know that the story was an imitating of original Taiwanese drama. I did not bother myself to watch the original version as I love kdrama much. I think this drama was good. I like a good romantic comedy. Funny in some parts, heartbreak in other parts. Mostly, I could relate to their characters. And it showed daily problems. Mi Young's character was so pure. She could n...

I Hear Your Voice

Image
Just finished watching I Hear Your Voice, a Korean drama (yes again! think I will watch it as a regular if it has a great story) about court and justice. I decided to watch this basically because of the main lead actor, Lee Boo Young and Lee Jong Suk. I watched her latest drama God's Gift - 14 Days before and captivated by her acting. She's such a great actor. I saw Lee Jong Suk's acting for the first time as a high school boy in School 2013 and liked it so much. What makes me interested to watch it was because of its intriguing back story and lovely leads. Lee Bo Young played a witty, stubborn, self-centered, proud, and often rude public lawyer, Jang Hye Sung. They were not a very likeable treats, weren't they? But, actually her character did have sense of justice, have sense of care and loyalty to those who matter to her. She's also easily embarrassed that she'd like the rest of the world to think. While Lee Jong Suk played earnest, kind, caring, smart, v...
