End of Year

Image
In the blink of an eye, here we are, at the tail end of 2023. Seriously, where did the time go? It feels like just yesterday I was stuck in the whirlwind of 2019, a time when my travel plans were multiplying, and life seemed almost too good to be true. Ah, the days of dreaming big! I used to have this ritual of evaluating my resolutions as the year wound down, jotting down all the exciting things I wanted to do or achieve in the coming year. But then, the pandemic hit, and it flipped my world upside down. Suddenly, I found myself morphing into a whole new version of myself--disorganized, unmotivated, and dare I say, a bit slothful. Lol, never in my dream! 2023 arrived, and I was still navigating this maze of change. It wasn't the typical fresh start I'd anticipated. Instead, it was like I had to learn to dance to a completely different rhythm--one that I wasn't quite familiar with. Life took an unexpected turn, and I had to adapt, reshape my goals, and find a new groove in ...

Fall For You

Image
It's kind of hilarious how I can effortlessly find myself falling for someone. Yep, you read that right--I'm a quick faller. Go ahead, have a good laugh at my expense. Is it love at first sight? Nah, not really. Is it because of their looks? Not necessarily.  Umm, maybe it's just the law of attraction? The person I find myself falling for has something that captivates my brain and maybe even my heart. Or not. It's all a bit unclear. From my experience, the types of people I fall for are pretty varied, if not downright random. It could be random people on the street or strangers from social media. But more often than not, it's actors, idols from dramas, or members of bands.  It's true--I can fall for them easily even without knowing them personally. I observe their gestures, read their words, and listen to their speeches. And then, just like that, I find myself falling.  You might be wondering, how and why do I do this? Well, here's the thing is: I can fall f...

Overthinking Nights

Image
Once upon a time, I had this dream--a dream that adulthood would bring boundless freedom into my life. I envisioned a world where I could earn my own keep, buy whatever I desired, and saunter home at any hour without a lecture. The autonomy to shape my life, well, that was the goal. Of course, there was the small detail of paying bills, but I figured that was a minor detail in the grand scheme of things. As the years rolled by, reality struck me with a force I had not anticipated. The initial years of working felt like I was on cloud nine. I was the first among my peers to earn some cash, and with that came a sense of arrogance. I became closed-minded, thinking my current job was enough in terms of both financial gain and recognition. Little did I know, I was missing out on golden opportunities that were right in front of me, all because of my narrow perspective. Then, life took an unexpected turn. The pandemic hit, altering everything I thought I knew. Those things I considered routin...

Before Coup D'etat

Image
On July 2019, I managed to sneak away to Myanmar with my colleagues a week before school started.  Wait, why so sudden? And it was a week before school days? Did you not have to prepare for the new academic year? Yeah, well. I am a kind of person who professionally do well at school. But, when it comes to holiday sessions, I'd like to be totally immersed in my holiday, although it's only a week before it ends. Ha!  The plane ticket was bought 6 months ago around February, so I was aware of the dates. All accommodation has been covered since June as well, so that's more reason to go, although it's just a week before school. (Guess the old and young me had so much energy to release back then). I was super excited because it's the first time I was going to another SEA Country besides Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. The journey was quite long because we planned to visit Yangon for the first two days, Inle Lake (Nyaungshwe) for 24 hours followed by Mandalay for two da...

Panic Attack

Have you ever feel like you have a sudden shortness of breath? Cause I was experiencing it since last night before bed. Today in the afternoon I have the same experience again. And it scares me.  What should I do?

Life Surprises Me

Image
Actually, this post has been in my draft for years. I was having an idea about how life surprises me since I started to earn my living. However, it was never finished because either I kept postponing on writing it or kept changing what to write. Ha! Well, you might want to know why I am making this kind of post (or not! whatever). Because I know nothing about life although I try to plan ahead. I am a kind of person who'd like to have the life goes as planned. However, in fact, life sometimes drifts away from the planning. Yeah, it sometimes throws us lemons in the bizarre way.  As a person who lack experiences, I am yet exposed to the world. A real one. All I have done in my life was following the rules, being a good kid, getting good score, and caring others (?). So, once life is not going according to my schedule, my plan, my wish, I.....................am surprised (not brave enough to say that I am shock!). And do you want to know how I handle surprises? I am not going to say...

Hey, What's SUB?

Image
At the end of 2017, I got a chance (or an invitation?) to explore East Java from one of my colleague. I've known her since 2015 when I joined the new unit at school. She is from Pasuruan. She tries her luck in the capital city since years ago. But, when she has holidays, she decides to go home in Pasuruan. Pasuruan is one of the city in East Java that is usually called City of Mountain (if I'm not mistaken) because (yeah you can guess the reason why) it's surrounded by mountains. So, when she told me that she's coming home, I came along with her. :) She's so nice to let me sleep in her house and take me to see around Pasuruan, Surabaya, and Malang in just a few days. It's kind of a new experience for me because I did not remember going to Surabaya when I was a child. Once, I have been to Kediri, another small city in East Java. But, that's it. I've been to Malang as well, as a real tourist, and I thought I need more exposure of the other beautiful cities...

TECtacular Squad

Image
Soooooo, it's been three years since my last post and so many things had happened. Err, I don't know where to start. But, the first thing I want to tell you is that it has been three years since I was given a new position at work: to be the unit coordinator of TEC HF. Woohoo! If you are following my journey, you must know that I am a special education teacher (est 2011 ). Yep, it's been years and I am still enjoying this job! I was handling primary level students for the first five years, and I was grateful to meet such lovely kids. I mean I looooove kids since I was a kid. I used to want to be a pediatrician but I managed my dreams and adjusted my expectation on how to work with a kids: by studying psychology. Ha! Yeah, I think it's kind of the same thing for me as long as I can be with kids, no? Okay, so. Handling for five years, I had to say goodbye to them lil' kids because I was rolled to teach in TEC HF (Transition Education Center - High Functioning) studen...

We Say Goodbye, But We'll Meet Again

Image
It has been 13 years since I knew her for the first time in high school. I never knew before that we would go along pretty well until now. Because I thought I was quite different from my friends who live as Jakartans. You know, I was just a Tangsel girl who tried her luck in academics in Jakarta by renting a room next to the school building. Ha! Our friendship comes and goes. There were times when we did not have time to communicate for weeks, but when we had, we talked like nothing happened. We just focused on too many stories to catch up without thinking how much time we had wasted for not communicating. Because we knew, we would be there when either one had problems. Although we have different kind of personality, point of view, and family background, not to mention that we know lilttle about own preferences (yeah, we scored low on 'how do you know your bestfriend quiz'), we managed to stay with each other without any particular reasons (aww...). We have traveled to some...

Currently Watching [KDrama - Lawless Lawyer, What's Wrong With You Secretary Kim?, The Undateables, Are You Human Too?]

Image
Sooo... since it's holiday season, I have been catching up with all possible kdramas. So much that sometimes I get mixed up between characters and lost among stories. But, watching them is surely good for my heart. Here goes the lists: 1. Lawless Lawyer Who's not in love with Lee Joon-gi? That would be everyone's reason behind watching all his kdramas. But, no. I haven't watched any his drama before. Not even Criminal Minds, nor Scarlet Heart Ryeo, never Scholar Who Walks The Night. However, I'm drawn to this action-packed legal drama about mobster and corruption in the legal system. Tried to watch the first two episodes and I'm hooked. I.COULD.NOT.STOP. If only they air it everyday, I guarantee I won't be far from my laptop and wifi, just to make sure that I catch each episodes fresh. 2. What's Wrong With You Secretary Kim? Who's not up for Park Seo joon drama, eh? I guess everyone's on board the f...

Camping SE 2018

Image
May will always be a month full of events at school. Besides CDL, we hold an off-campus excursion called Camping for special needs students. Camping is one of our program for the kids to experience, explore, and develop their Gross Motor Skills, General Knowledge, Independent Skills, Leisure and Recreational Skills. This year, we got a chance to build tents (not us, but the event organizer) in Sekar Gemati Agroventure Campsite , Sukabumi. We came across Sekar Gemati when we were searching for campsite around Sukabumi. We had several options to choose and survey, which one would be the best place for all special needs students, range from primary level to high schooler. Surveying some places, we decided to go to Sekar Gemati Agroventure Campsite this year, because it offered activities we could choose and of course because they served mattress inside the tents. That was the winning point as the kids would find it comfortable. The kids always get super excited when it comes to Cam...
