We Love Gili Trawangan!

Our journey in Lombok continued to Gili Trawangan. After we tasted heaven a bit, we didn't want to miss another heaven earth would show to us through Gili Trawangan. Do you happen to hear or know about Gili? Gili means a little island in the middle of the sea. And Lombok has three well-known Gili, which are Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air. Gili Trawangan is one of the biggest of all three.

Brunch time, we headed north-west to Bangsal Harbour. In Bangsal Harbour, we could cross the sea by using traditional boat own by local people. It was so cheap that you paid no more than IDR 10k for one way. I could say that it's quite safety as it had life vest. The wind and the tides weren't that strong to bowl over the boat. Yet I didn't guarantee at all. :p

What kept me awake on the boat while my other two friends were sleeping not so beautifully was the surroundings. I could see that there were so many locals depended on this boat as their only one transportation everyday. Several foreign tourist were seen using this boat, too.

45 minutes later, we arrived safely and happily at Gili Trawangan. This time we didn't book any hostels nor inns since we thought that it wasn't peak season. We thought it all wrong. Almost all places were full of... FOREIGN TOURISTS! I didn't know should I be proud or sad that time. We walked down the path while kept asking whether there were any vacancies room. Even we're still be able to shop on the way finding empty room. :p

Finally, we got a not-so-big-room with AC, king-sized bed, and shower room inside. The owner claimed that they serve fresh water that later we knew it wasn't really fresh. We paid IDR 1 millions for 2 nights and breakfast for 3 person. We also rent a bike which cost us IDR 35k/bike/24 hours.

We really enjoyed our time in Gili Trawangan. I mean, who wouldn't? Beautiful skies, great sight-seeing, nice  meals, wonderful companies. What could I ask for more? I had them all. We had them all. :)

- Try to bike around the Gili. It surely burns your calories.
- Try to eat local food. It surely gives you new tastes.
- Try to enjoy every moment you have there. It will lasts forever.
